Why wear a neckwarmer in summer?

A neckwarmer in summer? No, it's not a crazy idea! Normally, we reserve their use for winter, to keep warm. But at Therm-ic, we're putting conventional wisdom to rest, because we're convinced that they can also play a crucial role in keeping you cool. Lightweight, breathable and eco-designed (Ecotech label), our neckwarmers offer the most effective protection against the sun's rays and insects. Anti-UV and anti-insect, our neckwarmers are ideal for most summer activities: from hiking and cycling to fishing,

WHAT ARE THE BEST NECKWARMERS FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES?

How do you make the right choice when it comes to your summer neckwarmer? By making sure that the neck warmer you put on for your hike, trail ride, cycling trip, fishing day or motorbike ride has all the following qualities... Qualities that we at Therm-ic feel are essential:

1/ Lightweight. A good neckwarmer is an imperceptible neckwarmer, a neckwarmer that shines by its discretion, a neckwarmer whose presence is almost forgotten.

2/ Breathability. In other words, the ability of the neckwarmer to manage and evacuate moisture due to perspiration or external conditions. This breathability depends on the composition of the neckwarmer - ideally natural - but also on an optimal ventilation system.

3/ Softness to the touch, for maximum comfort.

4/ Eco-responsibility, because we design our products with sustainability in mind, using recycled fibres. All our neckwarmers have the Ecotech label.

5/ Anti-UV qualities, to protect against the sun, calculated using the SPF, an objective protection index; and anti-insect virtues, to protect against insect bites.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A NECKWARMER WITH UV PROTECTION?

In summer, whatever your sporting activity, the sun beats down hard and has a short- and medium-term impact on your skin. All the more so when you come into close contact with its rays as you climb to higher altitudes, whether hiking, trail running or mountain biking. That's when a UV-resistant neckwarmer is essential. To choose one, you need to refer to the SPF (Sun Protection Factor), an index that represents the level of protection of a suncare product. The higher the SPF, the less UV radiation reaches your body.

Our lightweight, breathable 'Cool Light' neckwarmer is a model of its kind, thanks to its SPF of 50, which will block almost 98% of the UV rays attacking your skin. This eco-friendly neckwarmer for outdoor activities is lightweight (weighing just 150g) and breathable, thanks to its recycled polyester fibre composition.

These features make it the ideal neckwarmer for your hike, trail ride, bike ride or day's camping in warm, sunny conditions. Last but not least, the 'Cool Light' neckwarmer is a firm favourite with our mountaineers, who always take two with them on their summer high-mountain expeditions.

This neckwarmer is available in 3 models, for men and women: Blue Gradient, Black Gradient and Black & Gold.

HOW CAN A NECKWARMER PROTECT AGAINST INSECTS?

Movement and perspiration attract insects of all kinds. Just like heat and humidity. Mosquitoes, wasps, hornets, bees, ticks, horseflies and even spiders... These are the "bad encounters" you could have this summer when you're out hiking, trail riding, camping, fishing, cycling, motorcycling or trekking...

To protect you from these, we've designed a lightweight, breathable neckwarmer that stands out for its ability to be forgotten. Weighing in at 130g, our 'Cool Ultra Light' neckwarmer is one of the lightest on the market. It weighs as little as a feather, yet its role is crucial. With its SPF 30 protection factor and maximum breathability, this eco-responsible neckwarmer will be your best ally this summer.

WHAT SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS ARE USED TO MAKE OUR NECKWARMERS?

At Therm-ic, the composition of our neckwarmers is a real issue. Why is that? Firstly, because the composition is the basis of the qualities of a good neckwarmer. It's the materials used that determine the breathability, lightness and resistance, as well as the anti-UV and anti-insect properties of the best neckwarmers...

Secondly, this composition is at the heart of our approach, since we are driven by the desire to "do our bit", in our own way, to move towards a more responsible and ecological sport. This intention is reflected in the creation of our Ecotech label. The Ecotech label is a small technological revolution that proposes a new way of combining recycled fibres to design more responsible products, without compromising on comfort or performance.

Our neckwarmers are no exception. Both are made from sustainable and recycled materials.

The 'Cool Ultra Light' neckwarmer is made from 100% recycled polyester, i.e. polyester made from textile offcuts, used clothing or plastic bottles.

The 'Cool Light' neckwarmer is 97% recycled polyester, with 3% elastane.
